The
key to judging is finding that Holland Lop that has the fewest numbers of
faults. The faults on each of the remaining rabbits are then compared and
the Holland Lop that comes closest to perfect, in the judge's opinion, is then
awarded first place. Condition can play a big factor at this point in the
game. All other things being equal, will award a higher placing to a
good rabbit in poor condition over a lesser quality Holland Lop that has superb
condition. There are two reasons for this. First, there are very
few points on condition in the Holland Lop standard. Second, condition will
come and go, but type is always there. The good rabbit that is out of
condition is almost always more valuable in a breeding program.
